To swim against the tide is to resist the natural flow of things, which, in a literal sense, is a survival strategy. And this survival strategy mechanism emerges when we forget to realise that pride isn’t just a character flaw, but it’s a symptom of inner wounding.
And when we refused to heal the wound and let go, it became ultimately self-destructive.
